Cape Weimaraners

Since the Weimaraner Klub of Gauteng is the only Weimaraner club in South Africa, we have always had members from all over the country, and there has never been much interest in creating similar clubs in other parts of the country. However recently we have seen lots of interest in the Western Cape in the form of a Weimaraner Activities Group started by Esmé van der Merwe and other Weimaraner owners. They started to have a monthly walk called “Weims on the Run” and it has now progressed to the point where they are looking at having an annual Field event in the Western Cape similar to the main Shooting Ratings and possibly an Open Show, and who knows where this may lead.

So if you live in and around Cape Town or the Western Cape and own a Weimaraner and would like to get involved in the Group, have a look at their Facebook Group or contact Esmé van der Merwe at [email protected]

Cape Shooting Ratings and Natural Ability Test

September 8 2012

Take the Hermanus off-ramp from the N2,

travel along this road (R43) for a few kilometres,

pass the Shell Service Station on your right…

not much further, on the brow of the hill,

turn left on to the Karwyderskraal Road.

Pass Maremmana on your left, go over a single lane bridge.

The barn is just on the left after the bridge.

If the first gate is not open, go a bit further and turn left to go around the back of the barn.
