Rescue: Silwer

I am desperately looking for a home for my Weimaraner doggie, a boy of 13 months old.

I am moving to the Cape, and the place where I am going to stay is not suitable for a lively, running-all-the-time dog like him.

His name is Silwer, I took him to training and it was going OK.   The other problem that I have with him is that I have with him, is that I cannot walk with him, because I have back problems….he is quite strong.

I will send you a photograph as  soon as possible.

My cell nr is:   083 466 9566

Thank you!

regards,

Rika Prinsloo.

Rescue: Namibia

I have two Weimaraners turning two in March 2010. 1x Male, 1x Female, not sterilized, but they are inoculated and de-wormed. My house and garden is too small to accommodate them, thus I need to find a new house for them. I live in Namibia, but I can deliver them to Cape Town. I have to find a new house soon, my husband cannot share so little space with the dogs.

I live in Namibia, so telephone correspondence might be a little expensive, E-mail is fine with me. You can reply to this E-mail address, or phone me on 00264 81 448 2101.

Thank you and regards

Jana

Reason for rescue request:: With divorce children and I had to move to a small rental place, we cannot take Romeo & Juliette with and my husband don’t want them. Initially we had someone who would take them to his farm, but when time came for them to go, he changed his mind. We urgently need a loving and caring home, with lots of space for both of them. It has been very difficult to find someone who would take them both, as we do not want to split them up. Juliette can still have babies, but we had to sterilise Romeo, as they are brother & sister. They are very loving towards children. Romeo can be aggresive towards strangers who come onto the property, if he does not like them. They get very anxious when apart, even if we seperate them only to spray them, they are anxious. I sincerely hope you can help us, we have to find a new home by end of Jan 2010. Unfortunately I cannot upload photos at work, but I do have a photo on my cellphone that I can mms to anyone that is interested. Thank you

Rescue: Rudi

Rudi is a male Weineramer, he is not neutered. Approximately 5 years old. Rudi as you can see in the picture is used to cats and he is used to other female dogs but not male dogs.

He is very playful and intelligent and needs a home with lots of attention.

I would say he would be suitable in a home where he can be top dog either in a family enviornment with older children or perhaps a retired or semi retired couple.

He is extremely active and is used to the car, drives etc. Rudi must be in a large enclosed garden as he can jump quite high.

I am not able to keep him anymore and he is been looked after by a family in Midrand, Gauteng.

Kind Regards

MISS KARIN VICE

Reason for rescue request:: We love our dog but have had a few progressively worsening incidents between him and children in which he has become aggressive toward them without apparent cause. In the first incident, he was walking next to a 2 year old boy who did not antagonise the dog in any way and he growled, bared his teeth and snapped at the boys face without doing any physical harm. we though it would help to have him neutered and he calmed down a lot after that (about 1 month ago). Then over this last week end, a six year old girl was visiting us and she was walking in the garden carrying our little dog and Duke jumped up and bit the child in the face. She did have punctured skin and some bleeding but no stitches were necessary. He has always been very jealous by nature and dominates our little jack russle cross sausage dog, more due to size and strength differences than aggression. He hates its when she gets any attention either verbal or contact with anyone and then becomes physically dominant with her. We have an 18 month old son to whom Duke has never displayed any aggression but we worry that with many of our friends having young children the next incident could be with even worse consequences. We feel that he needs a home with little contact with children, either as an only dog or with other big dogs who he can bond with. I personally don’t feel that we can trust him around children on our property.

Please describe the dog’s temperament: Aggressive towards children

Weimaraner and GSP

I wonder if you can point me in the right direction please.

I have a 4 yr old male Weimaraner named Hugo and a 4yr old male German Pointer named Dax that I need to find a new home for due to a divorce and the fact that I am away on business more than I would like to be at the moment and they are not getting the attention they deserve.  They are both well natured dogs but are not used to children. I would like them to go to the same home if possible. Any ideas or associations I can contact that will be able to assist.

Please advise
